Another example of the near-far, and large-small relationships, made possible by the extreme depth of field of the classic Minox camera. The exposure was made at with a Minox LX in automatic mode. To obtain the same depth of field, a 35mm camera with a 50mm lens would require f/13 and 1/100 second. While not a problem in bright daylight (EV 15), two stops less light creates a serious problem (1/25 second) for the 35mm photographer while lowering the Minox shutter speed to 1/250 second. I am impressed with (1) the metering accuracy of the camera, and (2) the quality of the film. The exposure metering system appears to perform perfectly in spite of the luminance extremes present, and the film latitude captured detail in the white wall and shaded fountain stones.
