Some background information for you, they were all taken the same day at
the Goodwood Festival of Speed. This is held at the beautiful Goodwood House, home of the
Earl of March in Sussex England. Goodwood has a horse racing circuit as well as a
car race track (not used since the late sixties), but the festival is a speed trial held
on the drive to Goodwood House. It attracts top drivers from around the world, and is as
much a gathering of interesting cars. This year the theme was Porsche, to celebrate fifty
years of Porsche 1948 to 1998.
All the pictures are from the same roll of film, Minox Minopan 25,
developed in Paterson FX39 developer, with a very week solution (1:19 for 11
mins.) I use a large quantity of developer and poor the lot through to agitate. Taken on
my Minox LX this illustrates what a useable and convenient camera the Minox is.
I have produced quality 10" by 8" prints from these negatives, with my Minox
model 3 enlarger. (Pixel width set to 600 Pixel MPL for Display)
Here is a description of each picture.
The Porsche GT1 No.26, is the car that won this years Le Mans 24 hr. race, which was
held the week before the festival. The car was on display just as it had finished the
race, still covered in grime from 24 hours of racing.

The vintage race car being pushed from the padock is a 1936 V16 Auto union
a formula one car of it's day. It is a replica of the real thing commissioned by Audi. The
detail in this negative is amazing the vertical bars of the radiator grill are pin sharp
on the 10" by 8" print I have made.

The front side view of the car with wire wheels is a Jaguar XK150. I was trying to make
a type of patern picture of the two cars with the wings flowing in to each other.
The front view of the Porsche is a 356 from the 1950s, a display on the Porsche stand.
The picture of the two Porsche side by side is the same 356 with a new 911
Evolution displayed along side.

I enjoy taking pictures of cars, isolating areas of interest and creating a graphic design from the shapes.
