ChinatownDC.JPG (67691 bytes)

On a fine spring evening just at sunset the gate at the entrance to
Washington, D.C.'s Chinatown catches the light and appears golden against
the sapphire blue sky.  The sky, in this picture, is below the arch of the
gate causing one to reflect on the relationship between nature and
artifact.  The picture was taken as a group of us walked from a meeting of
the American Physical Society with Chinese dissident physicist (and now
American professor) Feng Li-Zhi.

Minox LX; Minocolor Pro 100.  Printed in my darkroom.  An 8x10 inch print
was scanned at 100 dpi for this version, and then resized for transmission.
No electronic processing whatever went into this rendition.
